Why does Windows Defender give a message that GOOSE VPN is insecure?

It sometimes happens that you receive a Windows Defender Notification during the installation of GOOSE VPN for Windows. That does not mean that GOOSE VPN is unsafe, but that the settings are not yet correct.

Windows Defender blocks UDP connections when configured to do so. This can also be an issue with 3rd party firewalls. Go to Settings and select Update & security – Windows Defender and under exclusions select add an exclusion. Select the Add button, navigate to “C:Program Files (x86)GOOSEGooseVPNLauncher.exe” and select Exclude this file.
