Install GOOSE VPN with OpenVPN for DD-WRT Routers

1. Introduction

This manual will help you to install GOOSE VPN with OpenVPN on your DD-WRT router.

2. Get your token

Open the following webpage in your browser:  https://my.goosevpn.com/downloads

Click on Router

At the right side you will find your token. We advice you to copy this. You will need it later.

3. Choose your server

Search for the name of the VPN server you want to use. Go to https://portal.goosevpn.com/servers.php for a complete list of the available servers.

4. Log in to your router

Go to http://192.168.1.1 with a device that is connected with the network of the router and log in. Next go to "Administration" and click on "Commands".

5. Configure the connection

Run the following commands with the email address you used to register at GOOSE VPN and the token you just copied in step 2.

echo "client_token" >> /tmp/cred.txt

Click on "Save Startup".

Next, go to "Setup" and then to "Services". Enable the OpenVPN client by selecting Enable.

Enter the following details:

• Server IP/Name: Server name you chose in step 3
• Port: 443
• Protocol: TCP
• Device: TUN
• Cypher: AES-256-CPC
• Advanced Options: Enabled
• Use LZO Compression: Enabled
• Enable NAT: Enabled

Enter the following Additional Configuration:

auth-user-pass /tmp/cred.txt

Enter the CA certificate.

Save and restart your router.

6. Do the free online privacy check

To see if the VPN connection is set up correctly, you can use our free online privacy check. The website will immediately let you know if your connection is secured or not.
